Exercise and diet... can stablilize our blood sugar levels...
To treat low blood sugar the 15/15 rule is usually applied. Eat 15 grams of carbohydrate and wait 15 minutes. The following foods will provide about 15 grams of carbohydrate:
- 3 glucose tablets
- Half cup (4 ounces) of fruit juice or regular soda
- 6 or 7 hard candies
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
After the carbohydrate is eaten, the person should wait about 15 minutes for the sugar to get into their blood. If the person does not feel better within 15 minutes more carbohydrate can be consumed. Their blood sugar should be checked to make sure it has come within a safe range.
Obtained from New York Times, Health guide..Diabetes is a chronic (lifelong) disease marked by high levels of sugar in the blood.
Type 1 diabetes is a chronic (lifelong) disease that occurs when the pancreas does not produce enough insulin to properly control blood sugar levels.
Type 2 diabetes is a chronic (lifelong) disease marked by high levels of sugar (glucose) in the blood. Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes.
What are the causes of diabetes?
Diabetes is caused by a problem in the way your body makes or uses insulin. Insulin is needed to move blood sugar (glucose) into cells, where it is stored and later used for energy.
When you have type 2 diabetes, the body does not respond correctly to insulin. This is called insulin resistance. Insulin resistance means that fat, liver, and muscle cells do not respond normally to insulin. As a result blood sugar does not get into cells to be stored for energy.
When sugar cannot enter cells, abnormally high levels of sugar build up in the blood. This is called hyperglycemia. High levels of blood sugar often trigger the pancreas to produce more and more insulin, but it not enough to keep up with the body's demand.
People who are overweight are more likely to have insulin resistance, because fat interferes with the body's ability to use insulin.
Type 2 diabetes usually occurs gradually. Most people with the disease are overweight at the time of diagnosis. However, type 2 diabetes can also develop in those who are thin, especially the elderly.
Family history and genetics play a large role in type 2 diabetes. Low activity level, poor diet, and excess body weight (especially around the waist) significantly increase your risk for type 2 diabetes.
Other risk factors include:
- Age greater than 45 years
- HDL cholesterol of less than 35 mg/dL or triglyceride level of greater than 250 mg/dL
- High blood pressure
- History of gestational diabetes
- Previously identified impaired glucose tolerance by your doctor
- Race/ethnicity (African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Native Americans all have high rates of diabetes Type 2 diabetes is caused by insulin resistance, in which the body does not properly use insulin. Generally, diabetes type 2 is thought to result from a combination of genetic factors along with lifestyle factors such as obesity, high alcohol intake, and being sedentary. Genetic mutations likely affect parts of the insulin gene and various other physiologic components involved in the regulation of blood sugar. Some rare types of diabetes are directly linked to genes.
Diabetes Secondary to Other Conditions. Conditions that damage or destroy the pancreas, such as pancreatitis (inflammation), pancreatic surgery, or certain industrial chemicals can cause diabetes. Polycystic ovaries are highly associated with diabetes. Certain drugs can also cause temporary diabetes, including corticosteroids, beta blockers, and phenytoin. Certain genetic and hormonal disorders are associated with or increase the risk of diabetes.

One's selfish needs have to be sacrificed. There must be constant efforts to do good to others. Your desire should be to establish the welfare of the world. With all these feelings at heart, you must meditate on the Lord. This is the right path. If great men and those in authority are thus engaged in the service of humanity and in promoting the welfare of the world, the thieves of passion, hatred, pride, jealousy, envy and conceit will not invade the minds of common people; the values such as Right Conduct, Mercy, Truth, Love, Knowledge and Wisdom will be safe from harm. The six internal foes can be uprooted only by the teachings of great souls, love of God, knowledge of the Lord and the company of the holy and the great.

SQ2 -spiritual quotient...Our immortal soul is embedded in our mortal body. Go for the quality of our soul than to feed quality to our body....
Go for and attain spiritual enlightenment.. This is the highest level of Q that we need to really achieve. Our immortal soul will live forever, thus feed it with what are needed... Our body will soon rot once this soul leaves it.. Our body is just playing this part of allowing practices and actions to enable our spiritual knowledge to grow. All of us have our own individual spiritual journey to attain God Himself..
High EQ ,,, He thinks right, say the right thing, do the right way at the right time and many people like him... and he can even smile at criticism..
Yes, he thinks right, says the right thing, does the right thing at the right moment or place or time and most people like him...
He loves the roses even when its thorns prick and bleed him... He smiles at anger, he smiles at challenges and he is always so well balanced with his character.
Multiple Qs, IQ + EQ + CQ + DQ + TQ + AQ + MQ + HQ + SQ1 + SQ2 = total success..
IQ = intelligence quotient
EQ = emotion quotient
CQ = creativity quotient
DQ = development quotient
TQ = teamwork quotient
AQ = adversity quotient
MQ = moral quotient
HQ = health quotient
SQ1 = success quotient
SQ2 = spiritual quotient
All these quotients must act and combine to produce its best to achieving total success which is well balanced and well distributed.
