INTERNET OR TOMATOES.. read on...

INTERNET OR TOMATOES

A jobless man applied for the position of "office boy" at Microsoft. The HR manager interviewed him, and then watched him cleaning the floor as a test.

"You are employed."

He said." Give me your e-mail address and I'll send you the application to fill in, as well as date when you may start." The man replied "But I don't have a computer, neither an email."

I'm sorry", said the HR manager, "If you don't have an email, that means you do not exist. And who doesn't exist, cannot have the job."

The man left with no hope at all. He didn't know what to do, with only $10 in his pocket. He then decided to go to the supermarket and buy a 10Kg tomato crate.

He then sold the tomatoes in a door to door round. In less than two hours, he succeeded to double his capital. He repeated the Operation three times, and returned home with $60.

The man realized that he can survive by this way, and started to go everyday earlier, and return late Thus, his money doubled or tripled every day. Shortly, he bought a cart, then a truck, then he had his own fleet of delivery vehicles.

5 years later, the man is one of the biggest food retailers in the US.

He started to plan his family's future, and decided to have a life insurance. He called an insurance broker, and chose a protection plan. When the conversation was concluded, the broker asked him his email.

The man replied, "I don't have an email". The broker answered curiously, "You don't have an email, and yet have succeeded to build an empire. Can you imagine what you could have been if you had an email?!!"

The man thought for a while and replied, "Yes, I'd be an office boy at Microsoft!"

Moral of the story:

M1 - Internet is not the solution to your life.

M2 - If you don't have internet, and work hard, you can be a millionaire.

M3 - If you received this message by email, you are closer to being an office boy, than a millionaire.
.........

Have a great day!!!

Pls Note: - Do not forward this email to me back, I'm closing all my email addresses & going to sell tomatoes!!!

10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react. What does this mean?

THE 90/10 PRINCIPLE

10% of life is made up of what happens to you. 90% of life is decided by how you react. What does this mean?

We really have no control over 10% of what happens to us. We cannot stop the car from breaking down. The plane will be late arriving, which throws our whole schedule off. A driver may cut us off in traffic. We have no control over this 10%. The other 90% is different. You determine the other 90%.

How? By your reaction. You cannot control a red light., but you can control your reaction. Don't let people fool you; YOU can control how you react.

Let's use an example :

You are eating breakfast with your family. Your daughter knocks over a cup of coffee onto your business shirt. You have no control over what just what happened. What happens when the next will be determined by how you react. You curse. You harshly scold your daughter for knocking the cup over.

She breaks down in tears. After scolding her, you turn to your spouse and criticize her for placing the cup too close to the edge of the table. A short verbal battle follows. You storm upstairs and change your shirt. Back downstairs, you find your daughter has been too busy crying to finish breakfast and get ready for school. She misses the bus. Your spouse must leave immediately for work.

You rush to the car and drive your daughter to school. Because you are late, you drive 40 miles an hour in a 30 mph speed limit. After a 15-minute delay and throwing $60 traffic fine away, you arrive at school. Your daughter runs into the building without saying goodbye. After arriving at the office 20 minutes late, you find you forgot your briefcase. Your day has started terrible. As it continues, it seems to get worse and worse. You look forward to coming home, When you arrive home, you find small wedge in your relationship with your spouse and daughter.

Why? Because of how you reacted in the morning. Why did you have a bad day?

A) Did the coffee cause it?
B) Did your daughter cause it?
C) Did the policeman cause it?
D) Did you cause it?

The answer is " D".

You had no control over what happened with the coffee. How you reacted in those 5 seconds is what caused your bad day. Here is what could have and should have happened.

Coffee splashes over you. Your daughter is about to cry. You gently say, "It's ok honey, you just need, to be more careful next time". Grabbing a towel you rush upstairs. After grabbing a new shirt and your briefcase, you come back down in time to look through the window and see your child getting on the bus. She turns and waves. You arrive 5 minutes early and cheerfully greet the staff. Your boss comments on how good the day you are having.

Notice the difference? Two different scenarios.
Both started the same. Both ended different.

Why? Because of how you REACTED. You really do not have any control over 10% of what happens. The other 90% was determined by your reaction.

Here are some ways to apply the 90/10 principle.

· If someone says something negative about you, don't be a sponge. Let the attack roll off like water on glass. You don't have to let the negative comment affect you! React properly and it will not ruin your day. A wrong reaction could result in losing a friend, being fired, getting stressed out etc.

· How do you react if someone cuts you off in traffic? Do you lose your temper? Pound on the steering wheel? Do you curse? Does your blood pressure skyrocket? Do you try and bump them? WHO CARES if you arrive ten seconds later at work? Why let the cars ruin your drive?

Remember the 90/10 principle, and do not worry about it.

· You are told you lost your job. Why lose sleep and get irritated? It will work out. Use your worrying energy and time into finding another job. · The plane is late; it is going to mangle your schedule for the day. Why take out your frustration on the flight attendant? She has no control over what is going on. Use your time to study, get to know the other passenger.

Why get stressed out? It will just make things worse. Now you know the 90-10 principle. Apply it and you will be amazed at the results. You will lose nothing if you try it.

WRONG ADDRESS

A Rabbi was delivering his lectures on the Torah, the sacred Hebrew scripture, to a few young Jewish students. One day in the course of their studies, they came across a line which said, "The truly evolved person is only he, who continues to smile in the midst of the greatest of difficulties."

The young students had a problem in accepting this statement at its face value. "If we are truly in difficulty, how is it possible for us to smile under such conditions?" they asked the Rabbi.

The Rabbi took off his spectacles and looked at his young pupils thoughtfully. "To be perfectly honest with you," he said, "I myself cannot answer that question. The truth is that I, too, cannot smile when I am in the midst of difficulties. At such moments, I seem to forget how to smile."

Silence prevailed in the class as the teacher and the students pondered over the issue. The Rabbi continued after a pause, "However, I believe there is someone who can give you the answer." He proceeded to tell his students of an old man who lived in their city, not far from the synagogue. He had been an abandoned child – an orphan. When he grew up, both his legs were paralyzed in an accident. His life had been a series of struggles, a saga of pain and suffering. "And yet," concluded the rabbi, "he always wears a lovely smile! He is a wonderful human being. You must go to him and ask him to answer our question."

The students were amazed to hear of this brave man. In a group, they went and knocked at his door. The door was opened by the man himself – moving briskly on a wheel-chair. He welcomed the young students cordially, and asked them the purpose of their visit.

"Sir, It's this text we are discussing in the class," said one of them hesitantly. "It's all about how one must continue to smile amidst the greatest of difficulties in life. The Rabbi told us that you were the best person to talk to." "Tell us please, sir," added another. "How do you continue to smile amidst so much pain and suffering?"

"I'm afraid you've come to the wrong address!" replied the old man, with genuine surprise. "I am 73 years old, and in all these years I have never had to face any difficulty! The Lord has always been good to me, and protected me in His mercy. How can I teach you how to smile in the midst of difficulties? " This was indeed a man who lived in close proximity with God!

In times of difficulties, don't ever say, "God, I have a big problem!" Instead say, "Hey problem, I have a big God!" and everything will be all right.

THE BEST PRAYER...The moral of the story is obvious. If you pray for God Himself and seek to serve Him, you will get everything you may ever need and much more. But if you pray for this and that, well, you will get this and that only! The choice is yours.

THE BEST PRAYER

Once upon a time, there were five young men who lived in five different villages. The first one was very unhappy about his poverty and the consequent lack of good food and dress. The second one was distressed about his house which leaked during the rainy season. The third one was dissatisfied with the village girls he had to choose from for his marriage. The fourth one was sorry
that his village did not have sturdy, elevated roads and the rainy season would virtually cut the place off from the rest of the country. He wanted to earn a lot of money to build roads for his village. The fifth one was interested in gaining more knowledge about life, and was supposed to be a great man with excellent qualities of the head and heart.

Each of the five felt that their aims and ambitions could not be realised if they remained in their villages. With the blessings of their parents, they left for the capital city. By an amazing coincidence they all met on the main highway to the city and decided to travel together and be mutually helpful.

It was past midnight when they reached the city. As they were exploring the streets in search of a place to sleep for the night, they came across a scene where one man was being over-powered by four others. The man was eventually bested, but he valiantly declared: "I won't allow you fellows to rob that house, as long as I am alive." The leader of the four ruffians shouted: "Hey! Why do you bother about what we do? We will loot or kill to get our bread and butter! If you try to prevent us, you are sure to be killed yourself!" The five young men pounced on the four robbers, and after a brief struggle managed to secure them all with a rope . The rescued man was very grateful for their succor, and after enquiring about their circumstances, arranged a place for them to sleep. He also invited them for breakfast the next day at his house, at 'No. 1 on the Main Road.'

The next morning, after a good night`s rest, the five young men promptly went in search of their new friend's house, and found that it was the palace of the king. The noble king occasionally went around the city in disguise – and that is how he had been when encountered by the five young men.

The king gave them a hearty welcome, and told his ministers how he was about to be killed when he was saved by the young men's valour. Everyone was shocked and happy at the same time, and unanimously desired that the young men be suitably rewarded. So the king said, "Young men! Just ask for whatever you desire the most and I will see that you get it."

The first one asked for land and money so that he and his parents could eat and dress better. The second one asked for money enough to build a good house for his family. The third one asked for a beautiful girl to marry. The fourth one asked for a good road to be constructed for his village. As each request was made the king gave suitable orders to satisfy their needs, finally turning to the fifth man. He said: "Your Majesty, I am so happy just to see you – whom I wanted to serve in some capacity or other for so long. I request you to come to my village every year and stay there for at least a week and accept my humble hospitality! "

The king and his ministers were surprised at such a request. Yet the king ordered that henceforth he would be visiting that village every year and stay for a week at the young man's house. The ministers immediately left for the young man's village to inspect the conveniences and comforts available there. And lo! there was no good road in the village! The house of the young man was pretty ordinary, he was not married, and also without sufficient means to make the king's stay comfortable.

So they decided to build a good road to the village, and a big enough house for the king to stay in comfortably. They also chose a girl from an aristocratic family to be his wife, ensuring that the king's tastes would be properly taken care of during his stay. And, it was decided to make the young man a zamindar(landlord) so he would have enough income to maintain the big house and his aristocratic wife, and take care of the king's needs during his annual visits.

The moral of the story is obvious. If you pray for God Himself and seek to serve Him, you will get everything you may ever need and much more. But if you pray for this and that, well, you will get this and that only! The choice is yours.

GOD DOESN'T EXIST?

A man went to a barbershop to have his hair cut and his beard trimmed.

As the barber began to work, they began to have a good conversation.

They talked about so many things and various subjects. When they eventually touched on the subject of God, the barber said: "I don't believe that God exists.

" Why do you say that?"asked the customer.

"Well, you just have to go out in the street to realize that God doesn't exist.

Tell me, if God exists, would there be so many sick people? Would there be abandoned children? If God existed, there would be neither suffering nor pain. I can't imagine loving a God who would allow all of these things."

The customer thought for a moment, but didn't respond because he didn't want to start an argument.

The barber finished his job and the customer left the shop. Just after he left the barbershop, he saw a man in the street with long, stringy, dirty hair and an untrimmed beard. He looked dirty and un-kept.

The customer turned back and entered the barber shop again and he said to the barber: "You know what? Barbers do not exist."

" How can you say that?"asked the surprised barber. "I am here, and I am a barber. And I just worked on you!"

"No!" the customer exclaimed. "Barbers don't exist because if they did, there would be no people with dirty long hair and untrimmed beards, like that man outside."

"Ah, but barbers DO exist! What happens is, people do not come to me."

"Exactly !"- affirmed the customer. "That's the point! God, too, DOES exist! What happens, is, people don't go to Him and do not look for Him. That's why there's so much pain and suffering in the world."

The beauty of life does not depend on how happy you are but how happy others can be because of you!

A LETTER TO THE WEARY.. must read... AQ

Dear Child,

I heard you cry last night. I was there in the darkness when the tears slipped down your face and your heart broke within you. Did you think I didn’t see and didn’t care? Do you really think I don’t know how tired and weary you really are?

Child, I’ve been with you when life has dealt its bitterest blows. I’ve watched you handle all the sorrow and all the pain. But you are weary now, and I can see the broken spirit and the faded hopes and dreams.

Please don’t forget that I care. My touch and caress can restore and mend your broken heart and kindle the flame of hope once more within you. Let Me love you. Take down the barricades around your heart and lean on Me.

I am not tired and I am not weary and I have the strength enough to carry you if you will let Me.

You are not alone, and you never have been, for I am your friend and I will never, ever leave your side. Trust Me!

Your Friend,
GOD

A must to read story.. about LOVE...

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.

Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to
ask for help.

Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said,
"Richness, can you take me with you?"

Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity, please help me!"

"I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.

Sadness was close by so Love asked, "Sadness, let me go with you."
"Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"

Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.

Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come, Love, I will take you."

It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder,

Love asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who Helped me?"

"It was Time," Knowledge answered.

"Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"

Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is."

Survive first, cry later.... I mean cry with joy later... not crying.. Life is always great, it depends on how one takes it to be... read this meaningful story....

One day a farmer's donkey fell into a well. The animal cried badly for hours as the farmer tried to think as to what to do.

Finally, he decided that as the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyhow; it just wasn't worth it to save the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come help him and they all grabbed a shovel and began to put dirt into the well .

In the beginning the do
nkey realized what was happening and started crying very badly, then suddenly to everyone's great amazement he kept very quiet.

After a few more shovels of dirt were filled, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily walked off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up.

Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up. This everyone can do only when you have God's Grace and Blessings. Chant the Lord's name and you will be ready all Troubles, If your Devotion for the Lord is great, he will face all your Troubles and will keep you safe.

Everyone has a thorn in our flesh.. For when I am weak, I am strong... So, when we all know that we have thorns in our flesh, so why STRESS ourselves OUT?

Everyone of us has a thorn in our flesh. None of us are without a thorn in our flesh. Friends, have you ever realized how painful is it to bear with the pain of the thorn in your flesh. It is there and you cannot remove it away. Why does God allow us to have that thorn in our flesh.

St Paul pleaded to God three times to take it away from him. But God replied to St Paul as it is written in 2 Corinthians 12:8 ” My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

St Paul replied, “Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecution, in difficulties. For when I am weak, I am strong.

SPIRITUAL WAYS TO MANAGE STRESS... Reconnect with Yourself, Spirit and Nature..from Holistic Stress Relief for Mom..

Spiritual Ways to Manage Stress

1. Break the stress cycle where you can.
Relieve your symptoms of stress–do what you need to reduce headaches, settle your stomach, get some sleep. If your head hurts, you can’t meditate, so first get the symptoms under control.
Take care of your body–Begin, slowly and gently, to do the things that you know are good for you. Eat well, exercise, sleep. You must reduce cortisol, and increase serotonin for your body to have the capacity to find quiet.
Watch your reactions–observe your reactions to stressors and whether they are appropriate for the situation. Are you overreacting? Is there some other way to respond to the stressors in your life. Start by simple observation. Don’t try to “fix” yourself, just observe what is happening. Observation alone is a great way to manage stress.
2. Look for grace. Keep an eye out for little miracles.
3. Find quiet. God talks when we listen. But its more like a whisper than a shout. Find quiet so you can hear.
4. Do that which makes you feel close to God.Put yourself in the environment where you feel God, and if you don’t feel Creator now, go where you remember you used to feel sacredness. If you go to church, go back to church and just sit. Go to your most sacred places and sit.
One of my ways to manage stress and feel close to the Divine is to walk in the trees. I have had many sacred moments among trees.
When I am in tune with the Divine, I feel a light moving through me. I am expansive and without borders. For others, God is a presence nearby. The ways to manage stress spiritually include finding opportunities to feel God.
5. God is the Creator so do “creative” things. Find passion again.
6. Remember what you love. For mothers, loving our children can reconnect us to the Divine. But don’t forget to love nature, love life, love your partner. Being in love can reduce stress.
7. Find a trusted person or persons to support your desire to reconnect. This person could be a priest, minister or friend or grandmother. Talk about the sacred. Remember it. Discuss ways to manage your stress spiritually.
8. Remember when you used to be connected and make it a practice to remember that every day. When stress approaches, recall that peaceful time and imagine actually being there. Remember the trust you had. Remember how protected you felt.
9. Mindless to mindfulness–Practice being fully present and mindful. Give yourself the assignment of being mindful for 1 day, 1 hour or 1 minute. Really be present. Observe yourself and the events around you and fully participate with your heart.
10. Choose to change your patterns–Make a choice to find yourself again, but make that choice like an open window catching a breeze. Don’t force it, don’t make a “to do” list, don’t stress about it. The best ways to manage stress don’t involve creating more stress.
11. Pray. Meditate. Take time to talk to your Higher Power.
12. Be grateful–Remember to say thank you everyday for the gifts you have.

How to SELF-COACH your STRESS...

Identify the source of stress in your life...

Look at how you cope with your stress...

Avoid unnecessary stress....

Dealing with stressful situations, we have 4 A's...
  • Avoid the stressor
  • Alter the stressor
  • Adapt to the stressor
  • Accept to the stressor

When STRESS is the cause of your headache, painkillers or medicines are not going to solve the problem... The pain will come back again and again... The body's discomfort will be plentiful.. and someone who doesn't know the real cause will harm you unknowingly by introducing or giving you the wrong medicines or treatments...

When one is over-stressed or worried... things will look like this....
